This winter season has already passed and we can take a look back and appreciate all the wonderful things it has brought along. One of the most unique Christmas decorations this season would be the Horseshoe Christmas Tree. This incredible piece of art is not only aesthetically pleasing but also symbolizes luck and a fresh start to the new year. It is a great way to bring a bit of charm and festivity to the home.
How was it built?
The Horseshoe Christmas Tree was created with the use of a horseshoe, some wire and a large piece of driftwood. The horseshoe was attached to the driftwood by first drilling a small hole through the horseshoe, then using a small piece of wire to tie the horseshoe securely to the driftwood. Once secure, the horseshoe was then carefully and strategically wired with various types of branches and leaves to create a unique and beautiful tree.
The use of various colored lights, ornaments and even tinsel transformed this already incredible tree into a one-of-a-kind show stopper. The tree was a wonderful conversation starter and electrified the atmosphere of the room it was housed in.
A New Way of Removing a Down Member
The winter season brought much more than just decorations, it also brought an innovative way of removing a down member from a hazardous situation. This training minute is a Lone-Firefighter tactic used in the attempt to rescue an individual from a dangerous environment. This tactic can be used when a single-firefighter is the only one available and cannot rely on an outside team.
The firefighter utilizes a webbing and carabiner system than can be extended and hooked onto the side of the structure. The firefighter is then able to carefully approach the down member and be able to secure the individual and safely remove them from the scene. This tactic is a valuable and useful method that can save the lives of many people.
Winter has come and gone, but it left behind a piece of art and knowledge that will continue to bring joy and safety for years to come.
